Week 1 (9-11 Jan): Introduction to course,, Read Chapter 1. Discussion of experimental theatre types. In class exercises

Week 2 (14-18 Jan): Discuss formation of class and exercises, performances
Read Chapters 2-3

Week 3 (21-MLK, 23, 24 Jan): Movie and video examples

Week 4 (28 Jan-1 Feb): Perform first exercise. Form groups for Readers Theatre Performances.

Week 5 ( 4 - 8 Feb): In class rehearsal for RT performances. (Quiz Chapter 1)

Week 6 (12-16 Feb): Exercise and in class rehearsal.

Week 7 (18-22 Feb ): Readers Theatre Performances. Monday and Wednesday performances. Friday - quiz on Reader Theatre (Peer and self evaluations due for Readers Theatre Performances by 25 February.) Study Chamber Theatre. Group exercises.

Week 8 (25-29 Feb): Study Chamber Theatre. Group exercises. Groups formed for Chamber Theater. Stories checked for suitability.

Spring Break - March 3-7

Week 9 (10-14 Mar ) Rehearse for Chamber Theatre in class. (Read Chapter 7.)

Week 10 (17-21 Mar) Chamber Theater Performances Monday and Wednesday. Quiz on Chamber Theater Friday.

Week 11 (24 - 28 Mar): Study Personal Narratives. Storytelling time. Turn in evaluations for Chamber Theater Performances by 24 March.

Week 12 (31 Mar - 4 Apr) Rehearse PNs. Exercises of Personal Narratives (Mummers).

Week 13 (7-11 Apr): Rehearse Personal Narratives.

Week 14 (14-18 Apr) - Perform Personal Narratives.

Week 15 (21, 23 Apr): Dicussion of uses of Experimental Theatre

Final - 500 word essay on the uses of experimental theatre (classrooom, church, life) Due Monday, April 28.
